Located in Harrogate town centre, our offices are within easy walking distance of Harrogate train and bus stations.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our development team in the role of Software Developer.

Our development team is a fast-paced agile team, where no two sprints are the same. Friendly and vibrant, we’re looking for someone who can bring enthusiasm and energy with them into the existing team.

We operate in the Scrum methodology and are always working to improve our processes and practices, so there is ample opportunity to help the team grow and improve.

The Role

The Software Developer will be responsible for:

  • Writing well designed and commented code meeting documented Coding standards
  • Present ideas for improvements with existing products
  • Testing and evaluating new technology
  • Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimisation and functionality

The Candidate

We are looking for a proactive team player who can apply the latest web, mobile and database technologies to new problems. Ability to communicate effectively is a must, as well as an enthusiasm to learn new skills.

You will have excellent attention to detail, with a flair for finding novel solutions and will be able to hit the ground running.

The ideal candidate must have the below technical skills

  • Experience working within a LAMP Stack environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Angular with proven experience implementing front-end applications
  • Proficient with the use of Laravel framework
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT
  • Experience with Docker

Desired technical experience:

  • Understanding accessibility and security compliance
  • Strong knowledge of common web server and PHP exploits and their solutions
  • Prior experience with customer facing self service portals
  • Experience with TDD
  • Exposure to AWS hosting environments

You must have at least three years of commercial PHP development experience or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
